Frendoc - Providing Patient Care

Access Information

Frendoc is accessed by telephone, in order to access Frendoc please call the surgery that you are registered with and your call will be directed to us. When you call a call handler will take down some basic information such as:

• The phone number at the patient’s location.
• The patient’s home address and date of birth.
• The practice and GP the patient is registered with

Please try to have this information available when calling.

Once the information has been entered the call handler will issue a prioritisation for the call; either Emergency, Urgent or Routine, or may ask you to clear the line and call 999 in cases of life threatening condition. A Triage Clinician will call you back within 3 minutes of Emergency calls, 20 minutes for urgent cases and within 60 minutes for all routine calls.

Appointments

Should you need to be seen you will be given an appointment to attend our Primary care centre (PCC) alternatively you may be given a home visit should your medical condition dictate it. Home visits are not automatically given but are allocated to people whose condition may be made worse by travelling to the PCC.

Patients currently living outside our catchment area but staying in our area are able to access our service, i.e. if you are on holiday etc. Patients living outside of our area and not staying temporarily in our area should call one of the neighbouring services. If you are unsure please call and our call handlers will give you the correct service to call.

Directions

The patient care centre is located at the outpatients department of Frenchay hospital.

From the M4, exit at junction 19 and take the M32 towards Bristol. Frenchay Hospital is situated just off the M32 Motorway. Leave the M32 at junction 1 (signposted Kingswood and Downend) and at the roundabout off the slip road turn left, following signs to Frenchay Hospital (B4058) and Kingswood. At the first set of traffic lights take the right filter lane. Proceed along Frenchay Park Road. The main entrance to the hospital is half a mile along this road on the left hand side.
